Rocklin ThunderCats
Competitive softball. Rocklin roots. One goal.
The Rocklin ThunderCats are the Select USA "B" program of the Rocklin Girls Fastpitch Softball League (RGFPSL). The program gives RGFPSL recreational players the opportunity to compete at a higher level while remaining part of the RGFPSL program.
ThunderCats teams compete against other organizations' highest-level teams, providing a more competitive environment while maintaining the values and community connection of recreational softball.
ThunderCats provides RGFPSL players with an opportunity to compete in a more challenging USA "B" environment while remaining part of a league-sponsored program.
ThunderCats teams consist of eligible players registered within RGFPSL and are designed to complement the league's recreational softball program.
The ultimate competitive goal is to qualify for USA "B" Western Nationals and compete for a finish in the top half of the field.
ThunderCats requires a greater time and financial commitment than the regular RGFPSL recreational season, including additional practices, games and tournament play.
ThunderCats tryouts are conducted at league-designated age levels. Players wishing to participate must attend at least one scheduled tryout, except when filling an existing roster vacancy.
Tryouts are designed to evaluate the skills of prospective players, with the primary goal of selecting the players who give the team the best opportunity for success. Final rosters are subject to eligibility verification and RGFPSL Board approval.
Frequent Practices
Players should expect additional practices and preparation beyond the regular recreational schedule.
Tournament Competition
Teams compete in higher-level USA "B" competition with the goal of earning a berth to Western Nationals.
Team Commitment
ThunderCats families should be prepared for the additional time, financial and fundraising commitments associated with the program.
Rocklin Pride
Players represent more than their team. They represent RGFPSL, their teammates and the Rocklin softball community.
